GEICO is hiring a Senior Engineer - DevOps to design and build high-performance, efficient platforms across Business Services, Data, Platform, and Infrastructure Engineering. You will apply DevOps principles within an Agile environment to deliver resilient systems.
What You'll Do
- Scope, design, and build scalable and resilient distributed infrastructure, platforms, and systems.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
- Lead design sessions and topology reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.
- Execute Infrastructure and Software delivery using Agile methodologies, Infrastructure as Code, PowerShell scripting, and operation and monitoring portals.
- Execute migration efforts from Azure PaaS/IaaS services to Kubernetes, Docker containers, or Web Apps/App Services by collaborating with Architects, Developers, Configuration Management, Network, and Security teams.
- Balance delivery of multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously, mentor and support engineers at all junior levels, share best practices, and improve processes.
- Build infrastructure for high-resiliency systems, troubleshoot across multiple verticals, execute multi-region high-availability systems, and provide operational support.
- Represent the team and provide excellent 24x7 production support on an on-call rotational basis.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud DevOps and Cloud Architecture in Azure environments (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS) and Network configurations.
- 2+ years of experience with Azure Kubernetes, Azure functions, Web Apps, Cosmos DB, and MS SQL.
- 2+ years of experience in PowerShell scripting.
- 2+ years of experience working with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Application Insights.
- 3+ years of experience in Production support, incident triaging, and Root Cause Analysis.
- 2+ years of experience with MuleSoft or similar integration software.
- 2+ years of experience with build and release automation products (e.g., ADO, TFS, VSTS, Git, Jenkins).
- 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation).
- Ability to concentrate, learn technical concepts quickly, and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong conceptualization, critical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently on difficult problems.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
- Independent and strong team player who enjoys collaborating with peers and application teams.
- Ability to use a PC, follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts, and manage priorities.
- Ability to multi-task, perform under pressure, and learn and apply large amounts of technical information.
- Ability to provide system training to team members and communicate clearly and professionally.

Work Mode
This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States. GEICO offers workplace flexibility and the GEICO Flex program, which allows you to work from anywhere in the US for up to four weeks per year.
