Ramboll is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for high-rise and complex buildings in Chennai or Noida. This role involves full project lifecycle design from concept to tender, covering MV/LV power, lighting, earthing, fire safety, ICT, security, and other ELV systems, with a strong focus on compliance, quality assurance, and collaboration across global teams.
What You'll Do
- Undertake electrical systems design for building projects, including MV and LV power systems
- Design normal and emergency lighting systems
- Design earthing and lightning protection systems
- Design fire alarm and life safety systems
- Design ICT, security systems, and other ELV systems
- Prepare and deliver design layouts, schematics, calculations, reports, and specifications from concept to tender design
- Support conducting primary technical reviews on design deliverables related to electrical system design
- Prepare load estimation for the project
- Coordinate with other disciplines and third parties for electrical load and other requirements
- Assist Senior Engineer with space planning, report preparation, and preliminary calculations during concept design stage
- Collaborate closely with remote design teams (including other Ramboll offices or subconsultants) on Middle East projects
- Ensure compliance with local requirements for remote projects
- Assist and represent the satisfactory performance of services to local clients and stakeholders when directed
- Provide electrical engineering technical support to secure Local Authorities’ approvals
- Engage personally where required to enable Local Authorities’ approvals
- Mentor and coach junior and graduate engineers where directed
- Check and review electrical design work undertaken by junior and graduate engineers
- Forecast, plan, and manage own workload and progress against agreed plan and criteria
- Evaluate and advise lead/senior engineer on electrical-related design changes to ensure change management
- Ensure to follow QA/QC procedures in the projects
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
- Maintain and participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events to develop own expertise
