Velera Solutions is looking for a Senior Discovery Consultant to play a pivotal role in our Client Delivery Experience. You will conduct extensive discovery and consultation on multifaceted financial institution projects, ensuring requests flow smoothly and that comprehensive roadmaps and charters are fully understood and approved.
What You'll Do
- Execute project charters, complete current state assessments, and perform gap analysis using deep payments knowledge and consultative skills.
- Ensure scope, pricing, client approvals, and billing records are completed per established PMO standards.
- Organize Velera, client, and third-party vendor resources against business requirements to keep projects on track.
- Support complex project inquiries from Sales, Client Growth, and Service Delivery teams as a subject matter expert.
- Curate custom engagements for prospects and facilitate project design strategy consultations.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify interdependencies, potential risks, and formulate client recommendations.
- Provide superior pre-implementation support to understand requirements, timelines, and dependencies.
- Complete Discovery and Current State Assessments at client locations or via webinar.
- Consult with financial institutions to create Project Charters with deliverables, acknowledgements, constraints, and pricing.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple product lines such as Debit, Credit, eCommerce, and ATM.
- Identify gaps in products, services, or features and obtain critical information from partners.
- Work with clients and vendors to determine the best approach for deliverables and facilitate meetings with key personnel.
- Understand client business requirements, communicate between technical groups, and map technical files between systems.
- Ensure quality in the project process and communicate technical aspects with stakeholders.
- Obtain scheduling and resource commitments from partners and internal resources.
- Consult on conversion schedules, freezes, and partner vendor key dates.
- Monitor and respond to requests for Proposals, Credit Union growth, service delivery, sales, and project demands daily.
- Provide reporting on forecasting, awareness, billing variance, in-queue, and resource assignment needs.
- Assist with identifying and implementing automation efficiencies within the department.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Velera products, services, and features.
- Provide after-hours on-call support for project installs.
- Maintain working knowledge of Project/Demand Management and PMO reporting tools.
- Create successful partnerships internally and externally.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Ten (10) years of related experience in the payment processing industry.
- Expert knowledge of payment card products, support services, and processes.
- Ten (10) years of related experience in project management, business, or system analysis.
- Experience in completing financial institution mergers or card processing conversions requiring data migration between platforms.
- Experience working with multiple vendors and channel partners.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s degree.
- Training in Six Sigma Methodology and project management (PMP) or Certified Business Analyst (CBAP) certification.
- Consulting experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $84,900.00 - $108,200.00
