What You'll Do
Drive the evolution of a robust data engineering platform that supports rapid, compliant access to high-quality data. You'll ensure data is well-documented, trustworthy, and governed across its lifecycle, enabling teams to move quickly without compromising security or regulatory standards.
- Design and maintain a comprehensive data catalog to improve discoverability and trust in data assets.
- Define clear data contracts, canonical sources, and schema standards across systems.
- Implement observability and quality controls across data pipelines to ensure reliability and consistency.
- Enable safe self-service data access by building automated guardrails instead of manual approvals.
- Enforce compliance with privacy regulations including CCPA and GDPR, working closely with Legal and Product teams.
- Collaborate on architectural decisions for ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
- Monitor data workflows for regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.
- Lead cost optimization efforts across cloud infrastructure, distinguishing growth-driven spend from waste.
- Guide tooling strategy and platform improvements across a hybrid stack of streaming, storage, and ML compute systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience building large-scale data platforms handling terabytes of data, not just managing teams.
- Strong background in data governance, with real-world implementation of CCPA, GDPR, and SOC2 compliance.
- Familiarity with identity resolution, device graphs, or privacy-preserving data matching techniques.
- Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
- Understanding of ML infrastructure, from data preparation through model deployment and monitoring.
- Track record managing cloud costs and optimizing unit economics on AWS or GCP.
- Experience in regulated environments, including knowledge of data processing agreements and publisher contracts.
Benefits
- Equity through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan — share in the company's long-term success.
- Performance-based variable pay tied to measurable objectives.
- Hybrid work model with team presence in Paris three days per week.
- Full health coverage provided via Alan.
- Meal vouchers through Swile.
- Annual company offsite in a destination location.
- Quarterly in-person syncs between Engineering and Product teams worldwide.
