About the Role

Schellman Compliance, LLC is hiring a Senior Director, Corporate Development to lead our mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy and operations. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for driving our growth objectives by sourcing, evaluating, and executing strategic transactions. You will build the pipeline, conduct market research, and oversee all phases of M&A from identification through integration.

What You'll Do

  • Execute the M&A strategy aligned with the firm’s strategic goals and conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform that strategy.
  • Lead the firm’s M&A function from sourcing through integration.
  • Research and identify potential acquisition targets while establishing and maintaining a pipeline that enhances the company's market position.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for M&A transactions with third parties and lead negotiations.
  • Lead the overall business case for internal transaction approval.
  • Oversee comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and legal assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead the transaction from initial analysis through deal execution.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in M&A / corporate development.
  • Proven experience leading M&A activities from sourcing and building a pipeline through integration.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within professional services or cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge, background and experience in the professional services / CPA industry.
  • Experience in sourcing M&A transactions, domestic and international, maintaining a pipeline and developing strategies.
  • Experience in corporate finance and ability to develop M&A valuation models.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Team & Environment

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
