Pfizer Inc. is looking for a Senior Director, Advanced Medical Engagement Lead, MD. This strategic leader provides consultative and direct support to assess, develop, and implement complex collaborative projects and non-interventional studies. You will work cross-functionally across Medical Affairs, Real World Evidence, Data Science, and commercial functions to achieve project success and support key teams.
What You'll Do
- Maintain excellent cross-functional communication and working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to advance projects through all stages of strategy, planning, and execution.
- Act as a strategic partner to engage healthcare organizations on complex, innovative initiatives, including non-interventional studies and quality improvement projects.
- Assess strategic priorities of concept owners and provide subject matter expertise on aligning and achieving their imperatives.
- Advise stakeholders, such as field account teams, on project direction and feasibility.
- Provide subject matter expertise on appropriate conduct and documentation to minimize risk and ensure adherence to Pfizer policies and Good Clinical Practice.
- Provide strategic input, support, and guidance for collaborative medical engagements, including directing initial assessments and triaging opportunities.
- Provide direction in advanced data analytics including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive analytics within projects.
- Advise project teams on activities related to execution, budget, and direction.
- Guide study operations and data management support and lead conversations to improve efficiency cross-functionally.
- Work collaboratively with commercial colleagues to guide or develop strategies and solutions pertaining to initiatives.
- Contribute medical insights to commercially led projects.
- Work cross-functionally across medical affairs on developing viable strategies to expand the body of evidence and quantify clinical value.
- Advise leadership on external and internal challenges, market dynamics, and needs in complex collaborations to drive organizational change.
- Work collaboratively with leadership across medical affairs and brand teams to identify and qualify collaboration opportunities with healthcare organizations.
- May serve on the Intake Committee or other committees as needed.
- Provide strategic input and coordination on strategic, tactical, and compliance areas with internal and external partners.
- Work with stakeholders from various sources to strategically manage resources.
- Contribute to an engaged and effective work environment and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- MD degree is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience including clinical patient care, quality improvement, medical account management, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research with strong methodological skills.
- Experience leading a matrix organization with the ability to manage without direct authority.
- Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and develop pragmatic recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication influencing skills to address leadership and external audiences.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight travel.
- Must have a valid US Driver's License and meet all Corporate Travel and Fleet requirements.
- This position requires permanent work authorization in the United States.
Nice to Have
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical medical account management.
- Field Medical experience is strongly preferred.
- Residency, clinical and/or management experience is preferred.
- Advanced data analytics and outcomes research experience is strongly preferred.
- A track record of developing technology and data partnerships that unlock value is a plus.
- Ability to network and build partnerships/collaborations with external parties, often at senior levels of healthcare organizations, is strongly preferred.
Team & Environment
This role reports to the Advanced Medical Solutions Team Leader in the U.S. Field Medical organization and works cross-functionally with multiple field and HQ functions.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $242,000.00 to $403,400.00.
- Participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of base salary.
