Jobgether is looking for a Senior Designer, Editorial to create compelling visual experiences that enhance storytelling across publications and digital platforms. This remote role combines hands-on design with system thinking to influence the look and workflow of editorial production.
What You'll Do
- Create high-quality visuals, including illustrations, collages, and templates, for editorial content across multiple publications.
- Collaborate with editors to determine when custom art, templates, or stock solutions are needed.
- Contribute to visual storytelling for features, tentpoles, and interactive experiences.
- Partner with photo editors and freelance designers to uphold visual standards and ensure smooth production.
- Build and maintain scalable design systems, templates, and in-house stock libraries.
- Organize, tag, and maintain visual asset archives for consistency and efficiency.
- Balance speed and craft while streamlining workflows and improving processes.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in editorial design or related fields.
- Expertise in tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate.
- Strong visual judgment and understanding of brand systems.
- Ability to manage high-volume production alongside conceptual, long-lead projects.
- Excellent communication skills for clear collaboration and constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with editorial workflows and working closely with editors and contractors.
- Self-managed, proactive work style with a curiosity for evolving editorial design.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience building design systems, contributing to art direction, or working with freelance illustrators.
