Netflix is looking for a Senior Product Designer, Game Controller to shape how members seamlessly connect their phones to play games on Netflix. You will focus on delivering intuitive interaction design for TV and web experiences, leveraging smartphones as second-screen devices.
What You'll Do
- Create, iterate, and refine intuitive interaction flows across TV, desktop web, and native apps that leverage smartphones as controllers.
- Design new features that elevate the Netflix Games ecosystem, such as advanced connectivity and the productization of features like haptic feedback and sound effects.
- Work closely with engineers, PMs, and external developers to align technical capabilities with exceptional user experiences.
- Work closely with Consumer Insights researchers and Data Science Engineers to validate results with qualitative user research and A/B testing.
- Identify and address friction points in the user journey, reducing connection drop-offs and ensuring seamless integrations between devices.
- Define how Netflix Games can transform gaming through intuitive design, innovative connectivity, and a deep understanding of players’ needs.
- Own the end-to-end design process from blue sky design exploration to UX specs and quality UI designs.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent experience).
- Strong portfolio showcasing consumer-facing design work, especially for connected ecosystems.
- Experience designing in highly technical environments, collaborating with engineers to align capabilities with intuitive user experiences on TV and web platforms.
- Track record of creating and shipping intuitive systems and flows for complex user experiences.
- Deep understanding of designing delightful, end-to-end user experiences, with a focus on TV and web platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to drive initiatives independently, balancing technical constraints with user needs.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with game development, player engagement strategies, and the broader gaming ecosystem.
- Experience designing for both technical and non-technical audiences, particularly in gaming or entertainment contexts.
- Background in designing tools for creative professionals or other B2B technical applications.
