Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher company, is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to support the Diagnostics Platform. In this remote role, you will contribute to the strategy, development, and operationalization of large language models, agentic AI, and image AI solutions, working cross-functionally to deliver measurable patient and business impact.
What You'll Do
- Lead assay development optimization and R&D process acceleration using advanced statistical and ML methods like Bayesian optimization.
- Conduct RWE analytics of EHR, claims, registries, and device telemetry to drive biomarker discovery and support dataset curation across text, tabular, and lab results.
- Implement reliable and reproducible AI frameworks that improve diagnostic performance analytics, workflow efficiency, labeling support, and customer experience.
- Contribute to the development of solutions on Azure, Snowflake/Databricks, vector databases, and enterprise content platforms.
- Translate analyses into clear narratives and dashboards, and collaborate with clinical, regulatory, R&D, IT, and academic partners.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of combined industry and/or postdoctoral research experience in MedTech, diagnostics, biopharma, or applied AI.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python/R and modern ML frameworks; familiarity with DoE, Bayesian optimization, and causal methods.
- Experience working with RWE/RWD datasets (EHR, claims, registries, device logs).
- Ability to travel 10%.
Nice to Have
- Background in oncology, infectious diseases, acute care, or neurodegenerative disorders.
- Experience with imaging data (WSI/IHC and/or CT/PET/MRI) and LLM-based systems like Agents, RAG, and finetuning.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Snowflake, coding agents, Llama/Mistral, MLflow, Delta Lake, Hugging Face, and large-scale model deployment.
