Airtable is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to build and lead the vendor contracting function within its legal team. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to apply your skills to other areas, including commercial law, artificial intelligence, privacy, and product support.
What You'll Do
- Manage the legal team's approach to vendor contracting, reviewing and negotiating terms for SaaS, professional services, events, consulting, and other agreements.
- Build and maintain contracting playbooks, templates, clause libraries, wikis, and training materials to scale the vendor contracting function.
- Build and maintain Airtable's central contracts repository.
- Develop data-driven insights regarding the company's vendor contracting operations.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT, security, privacy, and compliance teams on vendor reviews and approvals.
- Support procure-to-pay process optimization and automation projects.
- Respond to questions from all levels of the business regarding vendor contracts, negotiating positions, and related processes.
- Work with Product/Privacy Counsel, Commercial Counsel, and cross-functional partners on AI and data usage contract matters.
- Enable Airtable's product strategy by ensuring incorporated vendor technology aligns with legal, security, subprocessor, and customer requirements.
- Support Airtable's go-to-market AI contracting strategy, customer AI contract negotiations, playbooks, and sales enablement.
- Support alignment between AI vendor/data contract risks and Airtable's internal governance.
- Help enhance and participate in projects to increase the efficiency of commercial legal support.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of in-house contracts management experience, including with a SaaS or technology company.
- Enthusiastic about vendor contracting with demonstrated experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting legal terms in a broad range of commercial contracts.
- Experience negotiating with AI vendors, particularly in a SaaS context, with an understanding of the legal, security, and compliance considerations.
- Familiarity with AI contracting, including distinctions between generative AI and traditional machine learning, and their impact on software agreements.
- Ability to draft documents, policies, and emails in a precise and digestible manner.
- Flexible, resourceful, technologically savvy, and solution-oriented.
- Excited to help a growing company define its legal identity, build process and repeatability, and manage work independently.
- Ability to execute, prioritize, and stay focused in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
- High integrity, excellent judgment, clear communication skills, and ability to be both strategic and detail-oriented.
- Skilled at building authentic relationships with all kinds of people across many functional teams.
