Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and refine computer vision algorithms for object detection, tracking, and visual recognition on UAVs and other autonomous systems.
- Advance 3D perception capabilities such as visual odometry, depth estimation, structure from motion, and SLAM to enable real-time mapping and navigation.
- Construct sensor fusion pipelines that combine data from cameras, IMUs, GPS/GNSS, and other onboard sensors for accurate, low-latency situational awareness.
- Optimize algorithms for deployment on resource-limited edge and embedded computing platforms.
- Assess and quantify perception component performance through simulation, lab tests, and real-world field trials.
- Partner with robotics, software, and hardware teams to integrate perception components into the broader autonomy stack.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented source code following modern software development practices.
- Operate within a cross-functional team that takes full ownership of the software lifecycle.
