Provide expert analysis and support for construction claims related to the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrade project.. Work remotely with periodic on-site presence at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL.. Focus on evaluating construction disputes, supporting legal defense strategies, and integrating cost and schedule data to assess claim validity.. Serve as a key analytical resource in resolving project conflicts and advising the project team on technical and procedural matters.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of construction claims and support legal defense strategies for project owners.
- Perform integrated analyses including Cause and Effect, Cost and Schedule, and Entitlement assessments to evaluate claim merit.
- Present detailed case studies from at least three projects where you acted as a Subject Matter Expert defending the owner against claims.
- Assist in resolving disputes by providing technical evaluations and actionable recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Travel to the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center for approximately 15 full-day visits during the contract period as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or construction claims and litigation.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction claims evaluation, legal defense procedures, and dispute resolution methodologies.
- Proven track record in conducting in-depth analysis of project costs, schedules, and claim documentation.
- Effective communication skills with experience conveying complex technical findings to diverse audiences.
