Ubisoft is hiring a Senior Character Rigger (Créateur.rice de systèmes animables senior) to create high-quality character rigs in Maya and integrate them into the Unreal Engine production pipeline. You will focus on developing AAA animation workflows and scalable real-time rigs for character-focused games and MOBAs.
What You'll Do
- Create easy-to-use character rigs for animators in Maya.
- Develop efficient skinning and deformation systems.
- Ensure clean export and integration of rigs into Unreal Engine.
- Support and improve animation pipelines and workflows.
- Solve problems related to rigs, deformations, and engine integration.
- Optimize rigs for real-time performance.
- Collaborate closely with Animation, Tech Art, and Engineering teams.
- Contribute to pipeline tools and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of confirmed experience as a Character Rigger in the video game industry.
- Mastery of rigging workflows in Maya.
- Strong understanding of deformation, skinning, and control systems.
- Experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprints.
- Python scripting skills for rigging workflows.
- Experience working on AAA game productions.
- Experience supporting rigging for projects with a large number of characters (e.g., MOBA / hero games).
- Strong understanding of real-time optimization and engine constraints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a good understanding of pipelines.
- Experience in facial rigging (joint-based, blendshape, or hybrid systems).
