Orca Bio is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to use advanced tools and cloud technologies to transform data into actionable insights. You will maintain BI models, generate reports and dashboards, and support performance monitoring and decision-making across our healthcare-focused operations.
What You'll Do
- Use advanced Business Intelligence tools, cloud technologies, and statistical software to assemble, manipulate, and format data for actionable insights.
- Maintain and optimize Business Intelligence models to design, develop, and generate standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Work within established controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of all reports, views, dashboards, analyses, and user data.
- Adhere to development standards and protocols including change management, code review, documentation, and testing.
- Educate and advise internal customers on how to leverage available data.
- Develop, maintain, review, and explain data models while staying current with business operations and BI processes.
- Build relationships with Business Intelligence partners to understand data needs and execute on documented user requirements.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot extract, transform and load (ETL) processes that implement complex programming logic.
- Extract operational, performance, statistical, and other data from various information systems, primarily Epic.
- Develop and deliver reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly communicate insights.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond quickly to problems, translating concepts into practical solutions.
- Determine Business Intelligence and data warehousing solutions to meet business needs and resolve data reporting issues.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 8 years' revenue cycle, system, or data delivery experience.
- Epic Certification is required within first year of job acceptance.
- Previous healthcare experience required.
- Knowledge and experience in reporting and analytics delivery software, such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, SQL Server Management Studio, Tableau or Epic Cogito reporting framework.
- Knowledge of database and data structure in regard to reporting efficiencies.
- Must be customer-service oriented, able to respond promptly to requests, manage multiple priorities, work independently, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree.
- Epic Cogito Certification.
- Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification.
- Experience with cloud-based data development in Google Cloud (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow), Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, lakehouses, pipelines) and AI technology.
- Experience with AI-driven analytics or machine learning applications.
- Knowledge of physician and hospital billing systems for governmental, managed care, and commercial payers.
