Jerry.ai is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the DriveShield™ team, working on a critical stealth project focused on enhancing driver safety. You will play a key role in building the scalable and high-performance backend systems that power the company's growth.
What You'll Do
- Focus on non-functional requirements like service availability, scalability, reliability, observability, and security
- Oversee system design and architecture for robust and scalable solutions
- Develop and optimize real-time data processing applications using Kafka and Flink
- Profile and optimize application performance
- Collaborate with data scientists to deploy and integrate models in production
- Handle data processing, sanitization, validation, and quality assurance
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one core language like Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript
- Expertise in Kafka Streams, Flink, or similar real-time data processing frameworks
- Experience building real-time data processing applications
- You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast
Nice to Have
- Startup experience at a high-growth company
- Previous knowledge of working with geospatial data
Technical Stack
- Languages: Java and sometimes Python
- Stream processing: Kafka and Flink
- Hosting infrastructure: AWS
