Jerry.ai is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer

Jerry.ai is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the DriveShield™ team. You will work on a critical, stealth project focused on enhancing driver safety and making a real-world impact. This role involves building the scalable, high-performance backend systems that power the company's growth.

What You'll Do

• Focus on the non-functional requirements of backend applications, including service availability, scalability, reliability, and potentially observability and security.
• Oversee system design and architecture to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Develop and optimize real-time data processing applications using Kafka and Flink.
• Profile and optimize application performance.
• Collaborate with data scientists to deploy and integrate models into production.
• Handle data processing, sanitization, validation, and data QA.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficient in at least one core language such as Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• Expertise in Kafka Streams, Flink, or similar real-time data processing frameworks.
• Experience building real-time data processing applications.
• A proven track record of shipping products and features rapidly.

Nice to Have

• Startup experience at a high-growth company.
• Previous knowledge of working with geospatial data.

Technical Stack

• Languages: Java and sometimes Python.
• Stream processing: Kafka and Flink.
• Hosting infrastructure: AWS.
