Amgen Inc. is hiring a Senior Associate IS Engineer – Human Resources Applications to join our HR Integration Product Team. You will develop, test, deploy, and support critical integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and related technologies, connecting our HR, ERP, and workforce management systems.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and support live MuleSoft applications and APIs, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks, including incident response and root cause analysis.
- Perform regular maintenance and implement improvements to logging, alerting, and error-handling.
- Design and build scalable, reusable MuleSoft APIs and interfaces aligned with API-led connectivity principles.
- Develop integration flows primarily connecting platforms like Workday, SAP, and Fieldglass.
- Apply standard methodologies in MuleSoft Anypoint Studio to deliver high-performance solutions.
- Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and alignment with standard methodologies.
- Develop and implement unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies.
- Work closely with multi-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality software.
- Maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, and development processes.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree and 5 to 9 years of experience in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including design, deployment, and operations.
- Familiarity with integration platforms, protocols, and standards (e.g., REST, SOAP, ESB).
- Ability to design and develop well-structured and documented APIs.
- Understanding of common integration patterns, data mapping between systems, and API security best practices.
- MuleSoft Certified Developer certification is mandatory.
- Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated awareness of how to function in a team setting and presentation skills.
- This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as SDLC, Agile, and/or Scrum, software quality management, and change management processes.
- Strong solution design and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze client requirements and translate them into solutions.
- Experience with Human Resources data and domains.
- SAFe for Teams certification is preferred.
