Amgen Inc. is hiring a Senior Associate Paralegal - Preclinical Contracting

At Amgen Inc., we’re hiring a Senior Associate Paralegal - Preclinical Contracting to provide essential support to our Intellectual Property and Litigation department. You will play a key role in drafting and negotiating a variety of preclinical-related and translational agreements while helping develop resources useful in preclinical law.

What You'll Do

• Work under the general direction and supervision of an attorney or paralegal to provide legal support on a wide array of preclinical contracting issues.
• Perform research on laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting preclinical contracting.
• Draft and negotiate a high volume of preclinical-related and translational contracts in a time-sensitive environment.
• Undertake special projects as assigned.
• Understand and comply with all relevant procedures and policies.

What We're Looking For

• Master’s degree
• OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of legal experience
• OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of legal experience
• OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of legal experience

Nice to Have

• Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal education program or equivalent experience.
• Experience working as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of contracting and legal procedures, particularly related to pharmaceutical and/or university contracts.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and DocuSign, as well as familiarity with evolving technologies such as AI and machine learning.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product, with a commitment to quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
• High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding confidentiality and professionalism.
