About the Role

Redland City Council is hiring a Senior Adviser Workplace Relations to provide expert industrial and employment relations advice across our diverse organisation. You will support leaders to manage complex workplace matters and lead investigations, playing a key role in improving our organisational practices.

What You'll Do

  • Provide workplace relations and industrial relations advice to leaders across Council.
  • Lead complex workplace investigations in accordance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
  • Manage disciplinary and employment matters from initial assessment through to resolution.
  • Prepare high quality investigation reports, briefs, and correspondence for senior leaders and executive.
  • Identify themes and systemic issues arising from workplace matters and contribute to improvements in leadership practice, policies, and organisational processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in workplace relations, industrial relations, or employment law environments.
  • Experience undertaking complex workplace investigations and managing disciplinary processes.
  • Working knowledge of Queensland industrial relations legislation and frameworks.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and defensible reports and advice.
  • Collaborative stakeholder management and effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.

Nice to Have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Law, or a related field are desirable, but not essential. Candidates currently working towards completion are welcome to apply.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary: $113,556.72 - $120,486.01 Annually + up to 13% superannuation.
  • Salary after 1 May 2026: $118,666.78 - $125,907.88 + superannuation.

This is an onsite position.
