The Senior Actuary at Raymond James manages a team of actuaries and oversees financial projections for single-employer and multiemployer pension plans. This role involves leading complex actuarial analyses, mentoring junior staff, managing client relationships, and contributing to policy development with minimal administrative oversight.
What You'll Do
- Manage and mentor junior actuaries/analysts
- Client relationship management, ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Perform valuation services for pension and post-retirement medical plans
- Prepare plan design alternatives for pension and post-retirement medical plans
- Prepare and present key findings to clients
- Perform project tasks independently, and direct the efforts of others
- Participate in and/or lead the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client
- Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues
- Prepare and review deliverables for accuracy and quality
- Provide coaching to junior staff
- Manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experiences
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant field including extensive single employer and multiemployer pension plan actuarial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other business related field
- FSA, ASA, and/or EA actuarial designation
Nice to Have
- Small plan and cashing balance experience preferred
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries preferred
Technical Stack
- Broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with various software applications and regulatory requirements

Compensation: $100,000.00–$130,000.00 annually.
Work Mode
- Eligible for hybrid or fully remote; monthly office presence may be required in San Jose, CA or Seattle, WA
