As a Pricing Actuary specializing in Motor insurance, you will lead pricing initiatives and profitability analysis across the UK and select European markets. You will take full ownership of pricing projects from start to finish, shaping competitive and sustainable insurance offerings through rigorous data analysis and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pricing development for new contracts, conducting profitability assessments, scenario modeling, and delivering tailored recommendations aligned with partner requirements
- Analyze performance of existing motor portfolios to detect trends and underlying drivers, including claims inflation, mix shifts, and policyholder behavior
- Design and track pricing adjustments to optimize portfolio outcomes and support long-term profitability
- Enhance internal pricing infrastructure by maintaining datasets, models, scripts, and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and reusability
- Ensure technical outputs meet high standards for clarity, consistency, and auditability
- Prepare detailed review materials for internal governance and partner discussions, including quantified impact assessments and strategic options
- Develop clear, well-documented pricing recommendations and governance-ready documentation
- Produce performance reports with strong narrative flow and clear traceability to support decision-making
- Build presentation materials and supporting analysis for executive and committee review
- Generate reusable analytical assets such as code, queries, and tables with sufficient documentation for collaboration
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate solid experience in motor insurance pricing within the UK or European markets, with strong actuarial and analytical capabilities. You must be able to produce clear, decision-ready analyses that include well-defined assumptions, measurable impacts, and full traceability. Effective collaboration with Risk, Reinsurance, and Data teams is essential, as is the ability to translate complex technical work into practical business guidance.
