About the Role

Intermountain Health is looking for a Senior Actuarial Associate to contribute actuarial and underwriting expertise toward the organization's financial soundness. You will apply principles to the design and financial management of healthcare benefit programs and financing systems.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direction and oversight for product design and rating structures for new and existing products, including associated systems and state filing requirements.
  • Coordinate and develop all required rate and compliance certifications, ensuring a cooperative relationship with State Insurance Departments.
  • Provide direction for the development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of claims experience and trends.
  • Analyze and develop financial statement reserves and other liabilities including IBNR, contingent settlements, and third-party claims.
  • Provide input and support for internal and external audits and reporting.
  • Provide direction for the development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of budget projection inputs.
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain administrative expense models.
  • Provide direction for the development, analysis, and reporting of provider reimbursement structures and utilization information.
  • Coordinate and develop Retiree Drug Subsidy data reporting and submissions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data extracts, complex queries, and on-line data analysis and reporting tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, computer science, economics, or finance from an accredited institution.
  • Current Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries.
  • Eight years of relevant actuarial experience, including benefit design, financing systems, and valuation.

  • Experience working with sales and insurance brokerage consultants.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $58.62 - $90.48 per hour.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located in Murray, Utah.
