Senior Accountant, Technical Revenue

An experienced accountant is sought to lead technical revenue accounting efforts in a high-growth technology setting. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, supporting financial close activities, and enabling scalable accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer contracts to determine proper revenue treatment, including variable pricing, usage-based models, and incentives, ensuring alignment with accounting standards
  • Support the setup and modification of customer agreements in revenue systems, verifying that financial assumptions are correctly captured
  • Assist in the monthly close process by preparing and validating journal entries, executing reconciliations, and resolving variances
  • Conduct data analysis to maintain and update Stand-Alone Selling Prices (SSPs), ensuring documentation is complete and current
  • Prepare materials for audits and support SOX compliance initiatives related to revenue recognition
  • Develop and refine accounting policies and draft technical memos to support evolving revenue practices
  • Provide guidance on accounting implications for new products or pricing strategies to ensure processes remain efficient and compliant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Familiarity with GAAP, month-end close procedures, and foundational knowledge of ASC 606
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to teams and leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments

Preferred Background

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or CPA designation
  • Five or more years of experience in public accounting or a rapidly scaling organization
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle or similar ERP platforms
  • Familiarity with Zuora or Zuora Revenue systems

Technology Environment

Work is conducted using Oracle, Zuora, Zuora Revenue, and enterprise-level ERP systems.

Work Environment

This role is remote-eligible for candidates located in the U.S., excluding California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The organization operates on a remote-first model with a commitment to global inclusion and flexible work practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary ranges from $87,840 to $129,000 depending on location. The position may qualify for equity participation and eligibility in a corporate bonus plan.
