Responsibilities
- Compile detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring precision and timeliness.
- Perform financial analysis to detect trends, variances, and opportunities for clients to enhance their financial standing.
- Oversee and execute account reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and current, with any discrepancies resolved promptly.
- Track and analyze expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and providing cost-saving recommendations.
- Assist in creating financial reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare for external audits by providing auditors with the necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with clients and auditors to address audit findings and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws to provide accurate and current advice.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business needs and providing timely, accurate accounting services, as well as identifying areas for improvement and valuable insights.
- Ensure accurate and organized documentation of financial transactions and client interactions.
- Promptly address client inquiries, ensuring all interactions reflect a commitment to excellent client service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as business development, to provide comprehensive services and support client acquisition efforts.
- Provide guidance to junior accountants, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Promote a collaborative work environment that supports professional growth.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
- Implement updates to maintain the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks Online (QBO), Slack, Google G Suite, Monday.com, Tax Dome, ProConnect, and Zoom, to streamline financial processes.
- Effectively use technology tools to manage client accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development to stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and changes in accounting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in the accounting or tax industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online.
Nice to Have
- Public Accounting experience is preferred.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Tax experience is preferred but not required.
