Acelero Learning is seeking a Senior Accountant - II to manage essential accounting functions for our mission-driven early childhood education organization. You will prepare monthly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and support financial audits, playing a key role in our financial integrity.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly accrual-based closing entries and financial statements for one or more business units or delegate programs.
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts monthly; flag and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze and allocate costs by funding source and department using contract codes.
- Draft and review trial balances and financial statements; lead monthly financial reviews with delegate leadership.
- Support year-end audits by preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors.
- Supervise and develop direct reports, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and trainings, and support budgeting and state reimbursement documentation as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years in general accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Highly organized and dependable accounting professional.
- Technically skilled in Excel and general ledger systems.
- Strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
- Successful completion of a background check and physical exam are required.
Nice to Have
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Exposure to nonprofit or public-sector environments.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
