About the Role

Acelero Learning is seeking a Senior Accountant - II to manage essential accounting functions for our mission-driven early childhood education organization. You will prepare monthly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and support financial audits, playing a key role in our financial integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare monthly accrual-based closing entries and financial statements for one or more business units or delegate programs.
  • Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts monthly; flag and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze and allocate costs by funding source and department using contract codes.
  • Draft and review trial balances and financial statements; lead monthly financial reviews with delegate leadership.
  • Support year-end audits by preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors.
  • Supervise and develop direct reports, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and trainings, and support budgeting and state reimbursement documentation as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years in general accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Highly organized and dependable accounting professional.
  • Technically skilled in Excel and general ledger systems.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Successful completion of a background check and physical exam are required.

Nice to Have

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Exposure to nonprofit or public-sector environments.
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
