Responsibilities
- Manage the complete fixed asset lifecycle including capitalization, transfers, disposals, write-offs, tagging, and impairment assessments under US GAAP (ASC 360).
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to ensure accuracy and completeness against the general ledger.
- Compute and record monthly depreciation for all asset categories such as GPU hardware, data center infrastructure, leasehold improvements, furniture and fixtures, and software.
- Work with Supply Chain and Data Center Operations teams to determine whether new hardware and infrastructure purchases should be capitalized or expensed.
- Prepare and review fixed asset roll-forward schedules, depreciation schedules, cash flow schedules, and supporting documents for monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Assist with external audit requests related to fixed assets by providing schedules, reconciliations, and explanations of accounting positions.
- Help develop and enforce the company's capitalization policy and related accounting procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements to fixed asset tracking and close processes, using automation where possible.
- Collaborate with the Tax team to supply fixed asset data for tax depreciation schedules and support tax provision work.
- Contribute to financial statement disclosures for property, plant, and equipment as part of quarterly and annual reporting.
