As a Senior Account Executive, you will lead the growth of climate and renewable energy services by engaging with enterprise-level organizations across North America. Your focus will be on building trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers in sustainability and energy, guiding them toward meaningful progress on emissions reduction and renewable procurement goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a targeted sales approach within your assigned region, using research, networking, and industry engagement to uncover and prioritize high-potential opportunities
- Initiate and develop leads through proactive outreach, industry events, and strategic follow-up, positioning solutions that align with client objectives
- Conduct in-depth discovery conversations to understand client challenges and decision processes, then tailor recommendations to meet specific sustainability targets
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial contact through contract finalization, ensuring clarity and consistency in all communications
- Strengthen client retention by delivering responsive service, maintaining clear communication, and identifying expansion opportunities
- Collaborate with internal technical and delivery teams to ensure seamless handoffs and long-term client satisfaction
- Provide accurate forecasting and maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce to support pipeline visibility and business planning
- Share insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, and product feedback to help shape go-to-market strategies
- Stay informed on evolving climate standards, renewable energy markets, and regulatory developments through ongoing learning and industry participation
Qualifications
Candidates must bring at least five years of B2B outside sales experience, with a proven ability to exceed targets in enterprise environments. Experience selling to Fortune 1000 companies is essential, particularly within sustainability or energy procurement functions. You should have a solid grasp of emissions accounting frameworks—including Scope 1, 2, and 3—and familiarity with global reporting standards such as GRI and SBTi. Prior success selling renewable energy certificates, carbon credits, or climate advisory services is strongly preferred. A self-driven mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and fluency with Salesforce, Groove, and Google Drive are required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Work Environment
This role operates under a voluntary hybrid model, allowing flexibility to work remotely within the U.S. while supporting periodic in-person engagements. Expect approximately 10% to 15% travel for team meetings, client visits, and industry conferences. Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $123,500 to $154,000, with additional financial incentives through a commission plan, discretionary bonuses, and participation in the company’s profit-sharing program.
