Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior 3D Software Engineer to push the boundaries of 3D graphics and avatar technology. You will design and implement scalable, cross-platform solutions for creating high-fidelity digital characters and immersive experiences across cloud and mobile platforms.
What You'll Do
- Prototype, build, and debug research-driven tools for 3D content creation on cloud and mobile platforms.
- Architect clean, extensible, and portable software systems following open standards.
- Optimize data structures and algorithms for speed, memory efficiency, and low latency.
- Share 3D graphics expertise with cross-functional teams and foster knowledge exchange.
- Provide strategic guidance on software design, debugging, and the development of research-driven 3D tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure high-quality implementation.
What We're Looking For
- Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience, with demonstrated excellence.
- 4+ years of experience developing 3D software or real-time engines (Unity, Unreal), with deep understanding of architecture.
- Advanced 3D mathematics knowledge, including linear algebra, computational geometry, and numerical methods.
- Expertise in 3D graphics, including OpenGL, Vulkan, and shader programming.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and testing frameworks.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and integrate diverse technologies to innovate quickly.
Nice to Have
- Experience with 3D animation, rigged characters, physical simulation, AI models in 3D.
- Experience with 3D interchange formats (USD, glTF), DCC tools (Blender, Maya, Houdini).
- Experience with cloud orchestration, CI/CD, concurrent programming, and GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL).
