Corewell Health is hiring a Security Consumer Support Specialist for a dynamic dual role that blends customer service with security operations. You will serve as a facility welcome space ambassador, promoting self-serve patient check-in while ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, patients, and visitors.
What You'll Do
- Perform customer service while maintaining safety in facility welcome spaces and waiting areas.
- Enforce safety and security policies to deter violent behavior and criminal acts, responding as necessary.
- Triage patient and visitor questions and concerns as a facility welcome space ambassador.
- Promote the use of pre-arrival, mobile arrival confirmation, and self-serve patient registration 'check-in' options.
- Help patients navigate their welcome space experience, assisting with electronic devices or directing them to patient services representatives.
- Confirm patient demographic and insurance information; assist with kiosk/tablet patient registration and payment processes.
- Create and document security-related incidents using the standard electronic reporting system.
- Assist with wayfinding, lost and found, vehicle assistance, wheelchair transportation, escorts, and manage access control for secured areas.
- Manage verbal and physical conflicts using de-escalation, physical presence, restraint techniques, or other legal use-of-force options.
- Engage in continuous study of the professional field and complete required ongoing training and education.
- Maintain safety and security of people and resources; may respond to advance requests for security 'stand-by' assistance.
- Respond to emergencies and 'in the moment' incidents.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant experience in Customer service, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- At least 21 years of age with a valid Michigan driver's license.
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire.
- CRT-First Aid - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required Or CRT-Stop the Bleed - American College of Surgeons 180 Days.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 180 Days.
Nice to Have
- Associate's Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Business, or Criminal Justice.
- Vocational/Technical One year certificate from college or technical school.
