Wells Fargo is hiring a Securities Algorithmic Trader to lead the design, monitoring, and management of electronic trading algorithms. In this role, you will serve as a key subject matter expert on algorithmic trading for clients and internal partners within a culture focused on strong risk management and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Lead complex initiatives involving algorithmic and high-frequency trading technology with broad impact.
- Act as a key participant in developing, implementing, and monitoring risk-based programs to recommend buy/sell decisions for financial securities.
- Review and analyze complex formulas and mathematical models, combining process and rules-based algorithms to execute trading strategies.
- Make decisions in complex situations requiring an understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to lead the team and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Securities Algorithmic Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
Nice to Have
- Strong academic background in an analytical field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Quantitative Finance.
- Strong statistical background and proven ability to analyze large datasets, build models, and draw commercial conclusions.
- Ability to develop and deliver production code; familiarity with Java and Python strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with traders and other groups.
- Experience designing and building systematic/algorithmic trading systems, particularly market-making systems in fixed income.
- Familiarity with fixed-income markets.
- Experience building machine-learning models and collaborating on a large-scale, enterprise codebase.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets in Python.
- Experience with Unix and basic shell scripting.
- Demonstrated familiarity developing a safe environment using controls, testing, and resiliency around electronic trading.
