Responsibilities
- Improve customer experience and drive profitable sales through proactive, consultative sales assistance and support.
- Meet department standards and goals.
- Perform sales-support tasks to keep the sales floor clean, stocked, orderly, and well-merchandised for sales activities.
- Take ownership of customer experience by using approved consultative selling practices to identify needs and offer appropriate solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed associate performance standards.
- Understand website navigation and use technology to enhance customer experience and provide solutions when products are unavailable in-store.
- Stay current on merchandise lines, product features, benefits, availability, Sears Advantages like price match and protection policies, and delivery, installation, or service options as applicable.
- Optimize credit, gift card, Shop Your Way Rewards, and multi-channel opportunities, including Protection Agreements, Sears Purchase Protect, delivery, installation, and other income opportunities where applicable.
- Process customer transactions in the Point of Sale system, including sales, returns, and exchanges, following authorized procedures.
- Complete required training within the expected timeframe and participate in ongoing learning opportunities.
- Partner with other selling and support associates and cashiers to deliver superior customer service, such as locating merchandise, assisting customers, answering phones, and operating the register.
- Maintain merchandise standards and ready-all-day standards in assigned departments, including replenishment and housekeeping for all departments, and ad setup or teardown for Home Appliances, Fine Jewelry, and Footwear, as well as pad setup for Home Improvement.
- Use basic internet navigation to access and print information and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
