Directive Consulting is looking for a Search Engine Optimization Manager for a future opening. This remote role is a crucial, client-facing position responsible for creating and managing custom SEO and content strategies for our Enterprise clients, ensuring they achieve their key business marketing goals.
What You'll Do
- Create custom strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve their North Star Metrics (NSMs).
- Build, optimize, and revise strategies using project phase, client marketing goals, campaigns, and historical performance.
- Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns based on competitor and audience insights.
- Set client goals using data from Google Analytics, CRM, SEMRush, and Ahrefs, with approval from the Associate Director.
- Ensure strategy execution through project management, delegating tasks in Asana to team members and clients.
- Partner with content writers and designers to complete content campaigns on time and to client quality standards.
- Build relationships with clients as the main interface, communicating proactively about timelines, goals, and progress.
- Proactively communicate with internal leadership about roadblocks, growth opportunities, and client account changes.
- Report to clients bi-weekly on NSM progress and deliverables, plus monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual business reviews.
- Regularly look for opportunities for client growth via upselling, cross-selling, and asking for referrals.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, link building.
- Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
- Strong communication skills: comfortable client facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity with industry tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
- Proven organizational, project, and time management skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO and Content.
- Must have agency experience.
- Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.

Team & Environment
You will work closely with an Associate Director (AsD) for strategy approval and roadblocks, and partner with Project Managers, content writers, and designers. You will report directly to the Associate Director.
