Wellmark, Inc., a company motivated by the well-being of our members and committed to sustainability and innovation, is looking for a Scrum Master. In this role, you will partner with a Sr Scrum Master or Lead Scrum Master to foster high-performing scrum teams by increasing efficiencies and driving accountability. Your focus will be on motivating teams toward self-organization, high quality, and ownership of their deliverables.
What You'll Do
- Assist with and lead agile events including iteration planning, daily syncs, reviews, and retrospectives, as well as PI planning in partnership with senior leadership.
- Ensure scrum theory and Wellmark's standards are understood and adhered to by the team, while supporting Product Owners with backlog management.
- Facilitate inclusive participation, seek root causes of issues, and work to resolve team impediments.
- Coach teams to high performance under guidance, recognizing strengths and improvement areas.
- Participate in and promote the advancement of agile practices within the organization.
- Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to provide feedback, escalate impediments, and assist with resource and team growth activities.
- Assist with internal and external communications to ensure transparency.
- Collaborate with other teams, stakeholders, managers, and vendors on planning and delivery alignment.
- Exemplify agile values and principles, guiding teams in self-organization and cross-functional development.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience partnering with a Sr/Lead Scrum Master and performing duties through that partnership.
- Knowledge of Agile, including experience with estimating, developing iteration and PI plans, facilitating agile activities and meetings, conducting reviews and retrospectives, and supporting teams through change.
- Exposure to agile business analysis, such as documenting user stories and test requirements.
- Experience with Agile tools or project management software like Azure Dev Ops and the technical aptitude to learn new software quickly.
- An agile/lean mindset focused on adding value and eliminating waste.
- Ability to work well in a team, build positive relationships, adapt to change, and identify approaches and risks to meet requirements.
- Strong consulting, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
- Willingness to pursue other certifications in Scrum, Project Management, or related areas.
- Six Sigma Green Belt.
