As a Scheduling Specialist, you will play a central role in ensuring smooth patient access to diagnostic imaging services. Your primary responsibility will be managing appointment scheduling with accuracy and care, guiding patients through preparation requirements, insurance processes, and logistical details ahead of their visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls and faxes promptly, providing clear and courteous service to patients and referring offices
- Input and maintain patient data with precision across systems, ensuring completeness and confidentiality
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-authorizations, including for same-day exam requests
- Communicate essential appointment details to patients, including financial obligations, clothing requirements, and preparation instructions
- Coordinate scheduling changes with imaging technologists to support efficient workflow and patient satisfaction
- Maintain an updated directory of referring physicians and assist with overflow calls from other centers as needed
- Provide backup support to front office staff during absences and assist with special projects as assigned
- For St. Louis Park location: manage calls from the centralized 1-800 line and direct them appropriately
Work Schedule & Benefits
This is a full-time, onsite position with a consistent shift from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including rotational Saturday coverage. The role operates under a fixed schedule to support reliable patient access.
