Shape the future of satellite communications by leading system architecture and design for advanced spaceborne and ground-based platforms. This role drives innovation across the full signal chain—from RF and mixed-signal design to digital beamforming and power systems—ensuring robust performance in demanding space environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement system architectures for satellite payloads, user terminals, and critical subsystems across multiple orbital regimes.
- Translate high-level constellation and mission requirements into practical, scalable hardware solutions.
- Optimize RF, digital, and mixed-signal signal chains with attention to frequency conversion, beamforming, and power efficiency.
- Guide long-term technology roadmaps for integrated circuits and systems, informed by deep industry knowledge.
- Integrate emerging capabilities such as Direct-to-Cell and next-generation on-board processing.
- Ensure designs meet stringent environmental demands, including radiation tolerance (TID, SEE), thermal stability, and long-term reliability.
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in satellite communications system engineering, with a focus on payload or terminal design. Expertise in frequency bands including Ku, Ka, Q, V, W, C, S, and L is essential, along with the ability to navigate trade-offs in circuit and subsystem implementation.
Strong analytical and communication skills are required, with proven success working independently and within cross-functional teams. Familiarity with space environment effects—particularly radiation and thermal constraints—is critical.
Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications, Aerospace, or a related discipline. Experience influencing technology roadmaps, designing power or thermal systems, or working with next-generation Satcom innovations is highly valued.
Work Environment
This position supports flexible and remote work arrangements across the United States, Canada, and Europe, enabling collaboration with global engineering teams.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $184,030 – $266,485. Additional discretionary bonus opportunities are available based on individual and company performance. Comprehensive benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401k; paid time off; and other company-sponsored programs.
