Dexterra Group is hiring a Sandwich Maker to join our Culinary team supporting the Waasigan Transmission Line Project. This critical role prepares a wide variety of sandwiches and specialty items for our bagged lunch program. You will live and work in a remote camp setting on a 2-week on/2-week off rotation.
What You'll Do
- Prepare all sandwiches according to standard recipes and menus, including specialty compounds like egg salad and tuna
- Properly rotate food products to minimize spoilage and waste
- Monitor and coordinate the day-to-day set up of sandwiches
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, complying with all hygiene requirements for floors, counters, equipment, and walls
- Visually inspect food for proper color, combination, and presentation to maintain appeal
- Maintain sufficient inventory levels of all sandwich varieties
What We're Looking For
- Ability to commit to a 2 week on/2 week off rotation
- A team-player committed to client satisfaction
- Ability to handle a range of physical demands: lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; climb ladders or stairs; stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit for extended periods; perform repetitive hand work with both hands; work with arms at full length and above shoulder height
Nice to Have
- Large-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls, and/or hotels
- Previous experience in a sandwich-maker role at a mass-production level
- Current Food Safe certification
Team & Environment
You will be an integral member of the Culinary team, working directly with Culinary leads in a dynamic, large-scale camp atmosphere.
