InterContinental Grenada (IHG) is hiring a Sales Manager

About the Role

InterContinental Grenada (IHG) is looking for a Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting and soliciting new and existing accounts to meet revenue goals, professionally representing the hotel at industry events, and maintaining a strong knowledge of market trends and competition.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect and solicit accounts through telephone calls, outside sales visits, online bidding, site inspections, and client entertainment to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Target and build key relationships with customers directly and through travel industry partners and convention bureaus.
  • Collaborate with Event Sales Managers, other Sales Managers, and Revenue Management to ensure maximum facility utilization.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, customer correspondence, internal booking reports, sales activity recaps, and contribute to marketing plans and revenue forecasts.
  • Participate in daily business reviews, weekly sales meetings, and required training or sales-related meetings.
  • Professionally represent the hotel at industry organizations, trade shows, community events, and networking functions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer needs.
  • Promote positive relations with guests, customers, and colleagues, handling complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist with and complete special projects as designated by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

What We're Looking For

  • Some college plus 5 years of sales or marketing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Ability to frequently stand and move within and outside the facility.
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Strong communication, reading, writing, and mathematical skills, including budgeting and profit/loss concepts.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
  • Ability to travel for workshops, tradeshows, and conventions.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.

Nice to Have

  • A related degree.
  • Prior hotel sales experience.
  • Proficiency in other languages.

Team & Environment

You will work closely with the Event Sales Manager, other Sales Managers, and Revenue Management teams, reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
