HF Sinclair Corporation is hiring a Sr Sales Manager to lead sales of Process Oils used in industrial manufacturing. You will be responsible for soliciting new business and servicing existing accounts within an assigned geography and industry, driving volume growth and managing account relationships.
What You'll Do
- Maintain complete customer accountability in your assigned geography/industry, including pricing, volume growth, margin management, and payment terms.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel internally and at customer accounts.
- Identify potential new customers or distributors and develop strategic account plans for growth.
- Meet goals for profitable sales margin, volume growth, and strategic objectives.
- Lead strategic account planning processes to develop mutual performance objectives and financial targets.
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer and distributor needs on an ongoing basis.
- Lead solution development efforts, coordinating with Marketing Technical Service Advisors, other Sales Managers, Transportation, and Sales Support.
- Use Salesforce.com to manage and track customer relationships.
- Identify, manage, and negotiate innovative new business opportunities with internal resources.
- Manage and problem-solve high-priority or escalated items.
- Handle price and margin management.
- Obtain complete account information, including credit applications and tax certificates, and work with Credit to ensure timely invoice payments.
- Operate within an account-based and team-based sales process, sharing industry knowledge to achieve team goals.
- Represent HF Sinclair at industry events and trade functions to gain new sales opportunities.
- Help train distributor sales reps, monitor performance against business plans, and make joint sales calls.
- Handle special assignments as directed by your supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of industry-related process oil sales experience, or aptitude for application-based sales of specialty chemical products.
- Post-secondary education; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Exceptional sales and business development aptitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create mutual respect with peers and customers and foster a positive team environment.
- Ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work through objections and approval processes. Must be organized, self-motivated, and results-focused.
- Ability to deal effectively with customers and distributors at various levels, from purchasing to senior management.
- Ability to sell directly to end customers and through a distributor network.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong crisis management skills to handle situations involving product issues, outages, or complaints.
- Ability to multi-task and stay results-focused.
- Experience formulating and executing key client account plans with a solution-selling methodology.
- Ability to measure and document results in a sales environment.
- Comfortable preparing and delivering presentations.
- Chemical, mechanical, or industrial process aptitude and/or interest.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- This is a home-office-based role requiring approximately 50-70% travel.
- Candidate preferably resides in Texas or the Southwest US.
- Must reside within 50 miles of a large or medium hub commercial service airport.
- Must be fluently bilingual in both English and Spanish.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with no travel restrictions within North America or internationally.
Nice to Have
- Strong selling skills coupled with a technical or chemical degree and industrial chemical sales experience.
- Previous experience selling rubber process oils, asphalt, adhesives, or specialty chemicals in industrial applications.
- Knowledge of compounding rubber, polymer, or asphalt product applications.
- A B.A. or B.S. in Business, Chemistry, or a Technical Degree.
- An MBA with an undergraduate degree in business, chemistry, or a technical field.
- Experience with SAP and Salesforce.
- An understanding of supply and distribution processes, bulk transportation, and refining procedures.
- Experience in end-use markets including rubber and polymer, asphalt modifiers, adhesives and sealants, and chemical additives.
