Environment Bank is looking for a Rural Land Manager to identify suitable land opportunities and oversee the process of onboarding land for Habitat Bank creation. You will work with our delivery team to create and manage Habitat Banks on farms across England, playing a key role in our goal of reversing biodiversity loss. This position requires effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Identify and onboard new land opportunities to establish Habitat Banks, liaising with landowners and agents.
- Prioritize the creation of Habitat Banks based on Local Authority BNG credit demand and known purchaser demand.
- Conduct thorough due diligence to assess site suitability for Habitat Bank creation, coordinating with internal teams including ecology, project delivery, legal, and finance.
- Drive sites through internal governance processes.
- Gather and analyze data to support targeted Habitat Bank creation, including reviewing local plan policies, agri-environment scheme information, and market sector reports.
- Work as part of a collaborative project team to create the Habitat, deliver capital works, and support ongoing site management, liaising with landowners regularly.
- Manage and execute the planning and consenting processes required for habitat creation.
- Participate in regional and national marketing events to promote Environment Bank and the concept of Habitat Bank creation to farmers and landowners.
What We're Looking For
- You must live in the South of England. Bristol, Oxford, Buckinghamshire, or Hertfordshire would be ideal locations.
