About the Role

Sharecare is seeking a remote ROI Medical Records Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for processing all release of information requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy, safeguarding patient privacy, and providing customers with the highest quality product and service. All work must comply with HIPAA, state/federal regulations, and company policy.

What You'll Do

  • Complete release of information requests including retrieving and returning patient charts, scanning medical records accurately, and transmitting daily according to established standards.
  • Date stamp all requests and highlight pertinent data to facilitate processing.
  • Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on all work to assure accuracy of the release, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
  • Maintain equipment in excellent operating condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, respectful, and proactive in identifying client concerns.
  • Receive incoming requests via mail, telephone, or facsimile.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional personal appearance and a clean, orderly work area.
  • Maintain working knowledge of existing state laws and fee structures.
  • Work within scope of position and direction; willingly accept assignments and help out during backlogs.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with client/site policies and procedures, including HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality, security, and standards of ethics with all information.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong computer software experience with general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to type 50 wpm
  • Ability to use fax, copier, and scanning machine
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes quickly
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Proven customer satisfaction skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Nice to Have

  • A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or like setting

This is a fully remote position.
