Parsons Transportation Group is looking for a Roadway Engineer II to join our expanding portfolio of projects that directly improve community infrastructure. You'll be responsible for developing detailed contract documents, analyzing design challenges, and guiding the technical work of junior team members.
What You'll Do
- Independently develop and supervise the creation of transportation project contract documents that meet client quality standards.
- Define project problems, establish scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan work, provide technical direction, and report status.
- Analyze design issues and deliver detailed designs that satisfy client needs.
- Produce deliverables including detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and analyses.
- Support activities for other engineering disciplines as needed.
- Mentor young staff members and provide performance feedback.
- Develop skill sets to lead future project development.
- Provide technical guidance to young engineers and CAD Designer/Drafters.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of related work experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with road engineering.
- DOT road and wall design experience.
Nice to Have
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate team members in the completion of project tasks.
- Experience providing training and leading technical discussions related to roadway engineering.
- Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) experience.

- CAD and other PC software packages for road engineering.
