Mass General Brigham is hiring a Registered Nurse for night shifts in the Emergency Department at 45 Francis Street. In this key role, you will be responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. You will use your clinical skills to care for patients with complex needs and manage the full assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for a specific patient assignment, setting priorities for patients with varying acuity.
- Develop comprehensive plans of care and discharge plans based on patient assessment, health team information, and medical records.
- Document patient care clearly, completely, and concisely in compliance with nursing documentation standards.
- Provide a safe environment for patients, staff, family, and visitors, administering medication and performing procedures safely according to policies.
- Collaborate professionally with patients, families, colleagues, and other disciplines, upholding the A.N.A. code of ethics.
- Participate actively in unit-based and organizational quality management, committees, and educational programs.
- Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth, share knowledge with colleagues, and contribute to a cooperative unit environment.
- Assess patient acuity accurately for staffing decisions and assume responsibility for the unit in the absence of leadership personnel.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required (for newly licensed nurses, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required).
- A current, valid Registered Nurse [RN - State License].
- Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
- Demonstrated observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
- The ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective skills in applying hospital standards in service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time management.
- Appropriate knowledge of the growth and development of adult and geriatric patients.
Team & Environment
You will be directly responsible to a designated Nurse Manager or Supervisor.
