Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated RN for the Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CTSICU) at Allegheny General Hospital. You will be responsible and accountable for a designated patient population, providing expert care based on the full enactment of the nursing process from admission through discharge.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrate clinical assessment skills and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Provide safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory standards.
- Professionally direct and manage the activities of patient care delivery by team members.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for coordinated patient care.
- Assess learning needs of patients and families, providing education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Provide specialized post-surgical ICU care to cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant patients.
- Perform scrubbing and circulating duties on the floor.
- Provide support and treatment for patients with mechanical circulatory devices such as VAD, ECMO, Impella, and balloon pumps.
What We're Looking For
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current State of Pennsylvania RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- CPR certification

You will join a 24-bed unit as part of the CTSICU department, working within a culture that trusts collaboration and places patients at the center of all activities.
Work Mode
This position is onsite at Allegheny General Hospital.
