Washington University in St. Louis is looking for an RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support our Pediatric Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine department. This hybrid position involves a balanced mix of direct patient care, comprehensive patient education, and administrative coordination within a weekday, daytime schedule that includes no weekends or holidays.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; complete health histories and physical exams; and convey findings to physicians.
- Coordinate patient care by ordering diagnostic tests, attending inpatient rounds, coordinating appointments, and assisting with referrals to outside sources.
- Directly support providers in clinic during ambulatory sessions, assisting with asthma education, nebulizer treatments, biologic injections, skin testing, and more.
- Perform nursing administrative duties, ensuring compliance with environmental safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
- Act as a liaison by facilitating communication and coordinating care between patients, families, and health team members.
- Handle administrative tasks including patient care coordination, medication authorization, triaging phone calls, ordering outpatient testing, patient education, and various Epic EHR tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Two years of nursing experience.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, in accordance with the Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained or obtainable within one month of employment.
Nice to Have
- Clinical Experience.
- Clinical Research Coordination, Management, Methods, or Operations.
- Skills in Continued Learning, Critical Thinking, Customer Empathy, Database Management, Effective Written and Oral Communication, and Prioritization.
- Experience with Patient Care, Patient Care Plans, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and specifically Epic EHR.
- Proficiency with Spreadsheet Software, Statistical Analysis Software (SAS), and a Research Oriented mindset.
- Strong Team Collaboration abilities.

You will be joining the Department of Pediatric Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine, supporting a clinical team of 20 attending physicians, 9 fellow physicians, and 5 nurse practitioners.

- Salary range: $60,800.00 - $105,700.00 annually.
