About the Role
The position is responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with banking partners, focusing on risk mitigation, compliance, and operational efficiency within complex financial ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage partnerships with banking institutions to support risk management goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk controls and compliance standards
- Evaluate partner risk profiles and monitor ongoing performance and adherence
- Lead negotiations and alignment on risk-related terms and operational expectations
- Identify and address potential vulnerabilities in banking relationships
- Serve as primary point of contact for risk-related inquiries from partners
- Ensure alignment between internal policies and external partner practices
- Support due diligence processes for new and existing banking relationships
- Drive improvements in risk frameworks based on partner feedback and market trends
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting financial partnerships
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on contractual risk clauses
- Track and report on key risk indicators across the partner network
- Facilitate incident response and resolution for risk-related events
- Promote consistent risk communication across internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of scalable risk strategies for expanding markets
- Assist in onboarding and integration of new banking partners
- Monitor changes in partner operations that could impact risk posture
- Advise product and engineering teams on risk implications of new features
- Support audits and regulatory examinations involving partner relationships
- Foster a culture of risk awareness across departments
- Analyze data to identify trends and proactively address emerging risks
- Work with external assessors to validate risk controls
- Ensure documentation of risk decisions and partner interactions
- Balance business growth objectives with risk tolerance thresholds
- Provide regular updates to leadership on partnership risk landscape
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in finance, law, or risk management
- Experience in a payments or fintech company
- Certification in risk or compliance (e.g., CRCM, CAMS)
- Direct experience managing bank partnerships
- Knowledge of global financial regulations
- Fluency in multiple languages

- Background in audit or regulatory examination processes
