CHS Inc. is hiring a Risk Manager to manage the day-to-day risk monitoring needs of our Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). In this role, you will tackle complex problems and apply critical judgment in a fast-paced trading environment, focusing on market activity, risk measurements, limit setting, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Report to the Chief Risk Officer and advance the goals of the risk department.
- Participate in bi-weekly Firm Risk Management Unit (RMU) meetings to discuss, identify, and report risks.
- Utilize trade and risk monitoring tools to assess and monitor risks associated with customer activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports to regulatory agencies (CFTC, CME, MIAX, NFA).
- Contribute to the development and compliance of the Risk Management Program per CFTC Regulation 1.11.
- Review customer account opening documentation and assess risk profiles to determine trading limits.
- Communicate directly with brokers and/or customers on positions, limits, and other risk topics.
- Assess and determine customer position limits and respond to limit change requests.
- Develop and enhance methodologies to determine risk and reporting.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and executing risk mediation policies and procedures.
- Use good judgment to escalate issues per CHS Hedging LLC policies and the FCM Manual.
- Review and comment on customer money movements and oversee the daily margin call process.
- Gather data and analysis to support senior leadership of the FCM.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with the broader CHS Inc enterprise and its affiliates related to futures, options, and swaps.
- Liaison with CHS Capital for credit reviews and margin financing updates.
- Review and edit standard policies and procedures related to trade and risk monitoring processes.
- Act as a point of contact for all risk-related audit inquiries and assessments.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in commodity or financial markets risk management.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting, finance or related field.
- Understanding of futures and options and the factors that determine pricing of options.
- Ability to handle large data sets and analytical thinking to draw effective conclusions.
- Series 3 license, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as SEC and CFTC.
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly an FCM (Futures Commission Merchant).
- Experience as a commodities futures and options trader.
- Experience in answering regulatory audit inquiries and writing reports to regulatory entities.
- Experience with Risk monitoring software (i.e. – Global Risk, XRisk).
- Experience with trading platforms (i.e – WebOE, CQG, QST, TT, Fidessa).
- Proficiency with coding software (i.e. - Python, C++, or SQL).
- Experience with Power BI and similar tools.
