About the Role
This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of revenue cycles through precise data entry, claims processing, and coordination with clinical and financial teams to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Process and submit claims to payers accurately and on time
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with Medicare and other payer guidelines
- Maintain accurate financial records in the billing system
- Collaborate with clinical staff to obtain necessary documentation
- Support audits by providing billing and claims data
- Track and report key revenue cycle metrics
- Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries
- Update patient account information as needed
- Reconcile payments received against expected reimbursements
- Escalate complex billing issues to senior staff
- Participate in training for new billing software or processes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial data
- Follow internal controls to prevent revenue leakage
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Respond to payer inquiries and requests
- Ensure accurate coding alignment with treatment documentation
- Support process improvements in revenue operations
- Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards
- Work cross-functionally with enrollment and scheduling teams
- Maintain awareness of changes in reimbursement policies
- Document resolution steps for billing issues
- Contribute to team goals for accuracy and timeliness
