Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for analyzing customer contracts for revenue recognition under ASC 606, owning key revenue processes, and assisting with financial reporting and system enhancements.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and interpret complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
- Develop, implement, and monitor company policies governing revenue recognition.
- Own key processes governing revenue recognition, and when necessary, recognize adjustments to revenue & deferred revenue.
- Reconcile deferred revenue and other balance sheet accounts related to revenue recognition and improve systematic reporting.
- Review Professional Services contracts and the related revenue allocations to ensure appropriate recognition.
- Develop close working relationships with project managers; participate in project update meetings, educate, and provide financial guidance.
- Prepare account reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, deferred commissions, and accounts receivable related accounts.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to revenue recognition, invoicing, and related accounting policies/ processes.
- Assist with the implementation of system enhancements within Workday related to revenue and invoicing management.
- Assist in preparation of financial data and support for audits, budgets, and other needs.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related revenue footnotes.
- Assist with special projects and activities as requested.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study.
- Strong Technical understanding of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
- Ability to analyze information, formulate decisions / recommendations and bring closure to issues.
- 3-5 years of work experience.
Nice to Have
- CPA certification.
- Public accounting and software accounting experience.
