The Kwon Laboratory at the Ragon Institute of Mass General Brigham, MIT, and Harvard is hiring a Bioinformatics Research Technician to support translational research on host-microbiome interactions and mucosal immunology. You will analyze multi-omics data from large patient cohorts to understand how microbial communities influence mucosal immunity, epithelial barrier function, and susceptibility to infection. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on developing new therapeutic strategies to improve global health outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Analyze microbiome sequencing data, including 16S rRNA and shotgun metagenomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics data
- Develop and maintain bioinformatic workflows
- Generate data visualizations
- Support researchers in computational analysis
- Perform laboratory experiments following established protocols
- Prepare and handle samples, reagents, and solutions, ensuring accuracy and safety
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, conducting routine calibration and troubleshooting
- Record experimental data accurately and maintain organized records
- Compile and analyze data using appropriate statistical and analytical methods
- Assist in data interpretation and presentation for research findings and reports
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of prior laboratory experience through academic coursework, internships, or employment
Team & Environment
You will work under the supervision of Prof. Kwon and a senior data scientist.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $20.16 - $29.01 per hour

This is an onsite position located at 600 Main Street.
