About the Role

Mass General Brigham is hiring a Research Scientist to lead the design and implementation of CRISPR/Cas systems for basic and translational immunology research. You will drive research projects scientifically, determine their course, and contribute to publications while potentially obtaining funding.

What You'll Do

  • Make proficient intellectual contributions to the lab's scientific strategies as a subject matter authority.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of experiments and research projects.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and technologies to obtain results.
  • Collaborate with external researchers and potentially secure external project funding.
  • Present results and prepare publications.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in training and supervising other laboratory personnel.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctorate in a related field of study.
  • 5-7 years of previous research experience, inclusive of graduate and postdoctoral work.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in CRISPR construct design, genome editing workflows, molecular validation strategies, and immunological assays.
  • Excellent research skills and demonstrated specific scientific competence in the field.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of the field and evidence of potential for scientific creativity and original thought.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and leadership.
  • Ability to contribute to publications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency with bioinformatic tools for guide RNA design, immune repertoire analysis, and sequencing data interpretation.

Work Mode

This position is onsite at 600 Main Street.
